Spicy Chicken Gravy

                                 Spicy Chicken Gravy


Ingredients needed


Onion- 1 
Tomato -1
Ginger Garlic paste - 1 tsp
Coriander powder - 1 tsp
Black pepper powder - 1 tsp
Cumin Powder - 1/2 tsp
Oil - 3 tsp
Coriander leaves- to garnish
Salt - as needed

To Marinate:


Chicken - 1 lb
Curd/Yogurt -  3 tsp
Red chili powder - 1 tsp
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp

To make a paste:


Cashew nuts - 6 -8 nos
Milk -3 tsp

To make dry roast powder:

Cloves - 4
Cinnamon - 1
Curry leaves - 1 spring


Preparation


  1. Cut the chicken into the small pieces.Clean the chicken and marinate with red chili powder,turmeric powder, curds and little salt for 20 minutes. .
  2. While the chicken pieces are marinating,Cut the onion,tomato,into the small pieces,prepare a ginger garlic paste and make a paste of cashew nuts and milk in a blender.Then  keep it aside.
  3. Fry the cloves, cinnamon and curry leaves in a pan without oil for 1 minute. Let it to be cool then grind as a nice powder. Keep it aside.
  4. Heat little oil in a pan,add the onions and saute till the onions are changed into the transparent.Add ginger garlic paste and stir for 1 minute on medium heat.
  5. Then add tomatoes and let it cook for 3-4 minutes.Now add the Coriander powder, cumin powder, pepper powder,the ground powder and mix well then fry for 2 minutes.At this stage if you want you can grind these masala as a nice paste then add into the gravy.It will give nice thick gravy.But i want onion as a crunchy bite, so i didn't to that. 
  6. Now add marinated chicken and saute for 2 minutes then add cashew nuts paste and mix well.Add little water and reduce the heat and cook covered for another 4-5 minutes.
  7. Cook till chicken pieces are soft .When you got a thick consistency of gravy turn off the stove.Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.


Note-

  • You want to seasoning ,season with mustard seed,urad dal and curry leaves.
  • Chicken will marinate at least 10 minutes.So that the masala well mix with chicken.
