Roasted Chana masala which is very crunchy snack for tea time.Peanuts masala and these roasted chana masala are my favorite snacks when my school days.Now it is favorite to my kids also.
Ingredients needed
- Dried Chickpeas - 1 cup
- Red chili powder - 1/2 tsp
- Garlic- 1tsp (crushed) or Garlic Powder - 1/2 tsp
- Black pepper powder - 1/4 tsp
- Olive oil/Any cooking oil - 1 tsp
- Salt - as needed
Method
- Soak the chana dal/chickpeas for overnight or 8 to 10 hours.
- After well soaked,pressure cook the chickpeas in enough water for 3 whistles.Not needed to over cooked.Drain the water and leave to dry completely.
- Preheat the oven to 350 F,mean while add garlic,red chili powder,black powder,oil and salt with chickpeas and mix well.
- Spread out the seasoned chickpeas on a baking tray and bake them about 50 to 55 mins.Every 10 to 15 mins ,shake the pan for even well cooking.Make sure that chickpeas is crispy and golden color.
- After completely cool store in a air tight containers or Ziploc bag.
Note-
- Store it in a air tight containers,so you can keep them for one week even.
- You can season with what flavor you want like some other flavor masala.
