                                       Tomato Chutney without Coconut




Ingredients needed


  • Onion - 1/2 size
  • Tomatoes - 2
  • Chana dal - 2 tsp
  • salt - as needed
  • Red chili - 3- 4 nos
  • Garlic - 1 clove

Method


  1. Cut the onion,tomatoes into the small pieces.
  2. In a pan heat the little oil,add garlic,onion,tomatoes and red chili then fry for 2- 3 minutes.
  3. Let it allow to cool,then grind in a blender add some salt with that.
  4. Then season with some mustard seeds,urad dal and curry leaves.


Other Method


  1. Cut the onions, tomatoes into the small pieces roughly.
  2. In a blender,add onions,tomatoes, red chili and garlic then grind them to a smooth paste.
  3. Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds.Let it splutter. Add urad dal,curry leaves and little hing powder.
  4. Stir it occasionally and allow to boil for 3 to 5 minutes.Now the tomato chuntey color starts changing to a bright red color.
  5. At the same time the raw flavor gone,switch off the stove and ready to serve.
