Tomato Chutney without Coconut
Ingredients needed
- Onion - 1/2 size
- Tomatoes - 2
- Chana dal - 2 tsp
- salt - as needed
- Red chili - 3- 4 nos
- Garlic - 1 clove
Method
- Cut the onion,tomatoes into the small pieces.
- In a pan heat the little oil,add garlic,onion,tomatoes and red chili then fry for 2- 3 minutes.
- Let it allow to cool,then grind in a blender add some salt with that.
- Then season with some mustard seeds,urad dal and curry leaves.
Other Method
- Cut the onions, tomatoes into the small pieces roughly.
- In a blender,add onions,tomatoes, red chili and garlic then grind them to a smooth paste.
- Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds.Let it splutter. Add urad dal,curry leaves and little hing powder.
- Stir it occasionally and allow to boil for 3 to 5 minutes.Now the tomato chuntey color starts changing to a bright red color.
- At the same time the raw flavor gone,switch off the stove and ready to serve.
